DEFINITION: The Director of Surgical Services is a registered professional nurse who assumes the administrative responsibility for all activities within Pre-Admissions, OR Scheduling, Operating Rooms, Central Sterile Processing, Pre-Op Area, Pain Management, and PACU. The Director is accountable for planning, organizing, implementing, and evaluating quality patient care services rendered to all patients during the peri-operative stage to ensure that all patient care needs of a diverse and complex nature are effectively and efficiently served. The Director supervises all nursing, technical, and ancillary staff in surgical services, identifying and resolving problems in a quick and decisive manner. The Director must create an environment that fosters teamwork and provides job satisfaction for all staff members, as well as effectively assess and plan for the professional growth of each staff member while utilizing the abilities, knowledge, and experience of each. The Director is accountable for the budget, staffing, nursing care hours, and patient acuity system, initiation of data collection and analysis to develop effective systems, and the monitoring of effeciency and productivity.

 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Current License by the Oklahoma State Board of Nursing to practice as a Registered Nurse, Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification, Advanced Cardiac Life Support Certification (ACLS). Bachelor's Degree (BSN) from four-year college or university; One to two years related experience and/or training.

 

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Masters preferred, must be familiar with the Nurse Practice Act, Joint Commission Requirements, AORN Recommended Guidelines (for Operating Room), and Patients' Bill of Rights.

DEFINITION: The Registered Nurse, utilizing theoretical concepts as a basis for decisions in practice will assess, plan, implement and evaluate individualized nursing care in accordance with standards of nursing practice for adult/geriatric patients. The Registered Nurse will be responsible for the prescription of nursing interventions, the coordination of patient care and activities, and the delegation of those aspects of care which may be provided by others. The nurse will perform all duties in accordance to the mission, vision, and values of McBride Orthopedic Hospital.

MRI Technologist

DEFINITION: Under the supervision of the MRI Supervisor/Radiologist, the MRI Technologist shall be responsible for performing imaging procedures as prescribed by the Physicians under the direction of a Radiologist while maintaining any licensing, continuing education and abiding by all State and Federal safety regulations as required by law, and in accordance with the established policies and procedures of McBride Orthopedic Hospital. Phlebotomist

DEFINITION: The Physician Assistant is a state licensed, mid-level practitioner responsible for primary healthcare services to patients in the physician practice setting and hospital in accordance with established policies and procedures of McBride Orthopedic Hospital.

 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: The Physician Assistant must be a graduate of a Physician Assistant Program accredited by the American Association's Council on Medical Education. May substitute equivalent combination of education and experience. Ability to perform general clerical skills, basic typing/keyboarding and must have the ability to pay close attention to detail. Customer Service Rep

DEFINITION: The Customer Service Rep (CSR) is responsible for welcoming visitors, vendors and patients into the clinic in a friendly, professional manner. At check out, is responsible for ensuring the patients' visit charges are recorded properly and all monies collected, and return visits scheduled in a friendly, professional manner.
